"Amalfi" by Emiko Venlet

“Amalfi” by Emiko Venlet | 2021 Pinot Noir | 750 ml / 13.7% alc. vol.

The grapes for this wine come from our Belen Vineyards in Casablanca Valley, Chile, a few miles from the Pacific Ocean.

After being harvested by hand, the grapes were kept refrigerated for three days at 5º C. They were then manually selected, delicately crushed, and underwent careful manual punch downs. The idea was to extract only positive components from the skins, without over-extracting. Later, and to preserve all the attributes of this distinctive variety, the wine underwent a cold maceration for 35 days in stainless steel tanks, aging is 80% in French oak foudres.

Tasting Notes:

Notes of raspberry, fresh cherries and flowers, reminiscent of early summer roses, dominante the nose. The palate has great harmony between the fruit, spicy undertones from the tannin and the oak.  The wine is intense for Pinot Noir, with good structure and a moderate finish.

With a palette dominated by warm oranges, I invite the viewers and wine lovers to the heart of Italian coastal villa scenes where the sun-kissed skins touch one another under the light and shadow of Italian summer. 

Through bold brushstrokes and vivid colors, I aim to elicit the same joy and enchantment that one experiences while savouring the beauty and flavours of this picturesque region. 

As this painting graces a wine label, it not only celebrates art but also the timeless allure of Amafi’s landscapes and the pleasures of life they inspire.
